Reports from Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Washington show that collection agencies are becoming increasingly vicious when it comes to forcing people to pay on their debt. Though debtors’ prisons are illegal throughout the United States, routine traffic stops are leading to jail time. The way it works is this – A company you owe will sell your debt to a collection agency. The collection agency will file a lawsuit which requires you appear in court.
