If you were unemployed or are an employee of a business that received PPP money during the COVID-19 Pandemic and you live in Missouri or Kansas, you are eligible for free Career Training Classes at Johnson County Community College. The courses must be business related and cannot be credit courses.

The courses are offered via live or online instruction.  JCCC has received government funding, which enables it to offer these courses to those that qualify for free. As long as your business received a PPP loan or you were unemployed, you qualify.

Businesses are eligible to receive up to $25,000 worth of training for their employees.

There are certain limitations. However, course areas available include computer and IT, business leadership, healthcare, transportation and logistics (CDL licenses) and trades such as plumbing and HVAC. Whether you are looking to switch careers or simply brush up on skills for your current job, this is a tremendous opportunity for those of us in the Kansas City area.

As a Bankruptcy attorney with clients often looking for jobs or hoping to move up to the next level in their career, I urge any of you to look into this free opportunity.
